OBJECTIVE To evaluate the rate of spontaneous pregnancy in women awaiting oocyte donation. STUDY DESIGN Two hundred women with histories of hypergonadotropic hypogonadism (follicle-stimulating hormone > 60 mIU/mL, estradiol < 20 pg/mL) were evaluated for oocyte donation. RESULTS While awaiting gamete donation, five women (2.5% of patients monitored) spontaneously conceived. Their ages ranged from 32 to 42 years (mean, 37.0 +/- 5.0) (mean +/- SD).
