Existence of the spontaneous pair creation in the external field approximation of Q.E.D.
The problem of the spontaneous pair creation in strong electromagnetic fields is considered in the adiabatic switching formalism. The existence of a critical value of the strength of the external

The review of positron creation in superheavy quasi-molecules includes spontaneous positron emission from superheavy atoms, supercritical quasi-molecules, background effects, and some implications of
The decay of the vacuum in the field of superheavy nuclear systems
In the strong Coulomb field of a nucleus or quasimolecule withZ≳172 a change of the QED vacuum has been predicted, signalled by the spontaneous emission of positrons if holes in theK-shell are
Quantum effects with an x-ray free-electron laser.
A quantum kinetic equation coupled with Maxwell's equation is used to estimate the laser power required at an x-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) facility to expose intrinsically quantum effects in the
SUPERHEAVY ELEMENTS AND AN UPPER LIMIT TO THE ELECTRIC FIELD STRENGTH.
An upper limit to the electric field strength, such as that of the nonlinear electrodynamics of Born and Infeld, leads to dramatic differences in the energy eigenvalues and wave functions of atomic
Flux-across-surfaces theorem for a Dirac particle
We consider the asymptotic evolution of a relativistic spin-12 particle, i.e., a particle whose wave function satisfies the Dirac equation with external static potential. We prove that the
