We have reported that i.v. administration of splenocytes prepared from early pregnant mice promoted embryo implantation in pseudopregnant CD-1 (ICR) (closed colony) mice. In this study, the similar effects of splenocytes were confirmed using an inbred strain, BALB/c mice, and the mechanism was further investigated. Splenocytes were prepared from pregnancy day 4 (P4-spl) and dioestrus mice (Di-spl), and supernatant of P4-spl suspension (P4-sup) was used as controls. On pseudopregnancy day 2…
Administration of thymocytes derived from non-pregnant mice induces an endometrial receptive stage and leukaemia inhibitory factor expression in the uterus.
TLDR
Findings showed that thymocytes, especially CD4-positive lymphocytes, facilitate embryo implantation, probably by regulating endometrial differentiation.
Intrauterine administration of peripheral blood mononuclear cells enhances early development of the pre‐implantation bovine embryo
TLDR
It is suggested that intrauterine administration of PBMCs improves endometrial environment, which promotes early development of pre‐attachment conceptuses and thereby improves the pregnancy rate.
Expression of Ly‐6A/E in the mouse uterus during implantation period
TLDR
It is suggested that Ly‐6A/E plays a role in embryo implantation through its expression in the endometrial cells, which is concurrent with decidualization.
Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) in early pregnancy promote embryo invasion in vitro: HCG enhances the effects of PBMC.
TLDR
It is indicated that PBMC from pregnant women promoted murine embryo invasion in vitro and this effect of PBMC was enhanced by HCG, suggesting thatPBMC at the implantation site are activated byHCG secreted from the embryo, following which PBMC regulate embryo invasion.
Immune cells contribute to systemic cross-talk between the embryo and mother during early pregnancy in cooperation with the endocrine system

TLDR
It is found that peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) derived from pregnant women promoted progesterone production by human luteal cells and it is proposed that both hormones and immune cells participate in this systemic crosstalk.
Suppression of natural killer cell activity by splenocyte transplantation in a rat model of endometriosis.
TLDR
It was demonstrated that abnormal immunity caused by allograft of immune cells could recur in an endometriosis rat model.
Intrauterine administration of autologous peripheral blood mononuclear cells promotes implantation rates in patients with repeated failure of IVF-embryo transfer.
TLDR
Intrauterine administration of autologous PBMC may be an effective approach to improve embryo implantation in patients with repeated IVF failures.
Costimulatory Molecule CD28 Participates in the Process of Embryo Implantation in Mice
TLDR
It is found that injection of the uterine horn with CD28 antisense oligodeoxynucleotides leads to a decreased number of implantation sites, which suggest that CD28 participates in the process of embryo implantation in mice, which might play its role through delivering the second costimulatory signal.
Do circulating blood cells contribute to maternal tissue remodeling and embryo-maternal cross-talk around the implantation period?

TLDR
It is suggested that circulating blood cells positively contribute to maternal tissue remodeling and embryo-maternal cross-talk around the implantation period in cooperation with the endocrine system.

Intravenous administration of splenocytes in early pregnancy changes the implantation window in mice.
TLDR
Findings indicate that i.v. administration of splenocytes can change the murine implantation window and that peripheral immune cells in early pregnancy may be involved in embryo implantation.
Pregnancy achieved by transferring blastocysts into endometrial stroma in mice.
To prevent the extra-uterine discharge of transferred embryos, we directly inserted mouse embryos into the endometrial stroma (intra-endometrial embryo transfer). A 27G injection needle was inserted
Blastocyst implantation depends on maternal expression of leukaemia inhibitory factor
TLDR
It is reported that transient expression of LIF in mice is essential for implantation, and females lacking a functional LIF gene are fertile, but their blastocysts fail to implant and do not develop.
Involvement of splenocytes in the control of corpus luteum function in the rat.
TLDR
Results indicate that splenocytes are involved in the control of ovarian function by comparing long-term splenectomized rats with intact controls.
Uterine expression of leukemia inhibitory factor coincides with the onset of blastocyst implantation.
TLDR
Analysis of LIF expression in pseudopregnant mice and in females undergoing delayed implantation showed that it is under maternal control and that its expression coincides with blastocyst formation and always precedes implantation.
Determination of the Number and Distribution of Macrophages, Lymphocytes, and Granulocytes in the Mouse Uterus From Mating Through Implantation
TLDR
The results demonstrate that an inflammation‐like cellular response occurs in the uterus following mating and that macrophages are a major cellular component of the uterus during early pregnancy.
Interleukin-1 inhibits in vitro decidualization of human endometrial stromal cells.
TLDR
It is demonstrated for the first time the possibility that IL-1 blocks decidualization, the functional differentiation of human endometrial stromal cells in response to ovarian steroids.
Induction of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 3 gene expression during in vitro decidualization of human endometrial stromal cells.
TLDR
It is suggested that TIMP-3 is a sensitive indicator of ESC decidualization, and that the induction of TIMp-3 expression in decidUAL cells and trophoblasts may be important in the regulation of trophoblast invasion.
Granulated metrial gland cells of pregnant mouse uterus are natural killer-like cells that contain perforin and serine esterases.
TLDR
Activated cytolytic cells related to NK or lymphokine-activated killer cells may function in the pregnant rodent uterus to intercept and kill aberrant placental or embryonic cells that might otherwise enter the female and proliferate.

TLDR
An improvement in clinical pregnancy rate follows a natural or induced period of amenorrhoea, and immunological factors may emerge as major elements in the human implantation process, because the neutralization of antiphospholipid antibodies may enhance the activity of early trophoblast.
