AbstractThe genusSpio was reidentified for the south-eastern North Sea. The most common species in German waters areS. filicornis, S. martinensis andS. goniocephala.The reidentification revealed that most of the specimens, which had been identified asS. filicornis in earlier investigations of the German coastal waters, are in factS. martinensis.
