Effects of local lattice distortions on the spin ordering are investigated for the antiferromagnetic classical Heisenberg model on the pyrochlore lattice. It is found by Monte Carlo simulations that the spin-lattice coupling (SLC) originating from site phonons induces a first-order transition into two different types of collinear magnetic ordered states. The state realized at the stronger SLC is cubic symmetric characterized by the magnetic (1/2,1/2,1/2) Bragg peaks, while that at the weaker…

Spin ordering induced by lattice distortions in classical Heisenberg antiferromagnets on the breathing pyrochlore lattice

We theoretically investigate effects of lattice distortions on the spin ordering of classical Heisenberg antiferromagnets on the breathing pyrochlore lattice. In the model, local lattice distortions

Nematicity and fractional magnetization plateaus induced by spin-lattice coupling in the classical kagome-lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet

We investigate the e ff ect of spin-lattice coupling (SLC) on the magnetic properties of the classical kagome-lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet (KHAF) using improved Monte Carlo updates. The lattice

Phase Transitions in the Antiferromagnetic Heisenberg Model on a Body-Centered Cubic Lattice with Allowance for the Next-Nearest-Neighbor Interactions

Based on the replica exchange Monte Carlo algorithm and histogram analysis of data, the phase transitions in the three-dimensional antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model on a body-centered cubic lattice

Hedgehog-lattice spin texture in classical Heisenberg antiferromagnets on the breathing pyrochlore lattice

The hedgehog lattice, a three-dimensional periodic array of magnetic monopoles and antimonopoles, is known to be realized in the presence of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction. Here, we

Flat bands and Dirac cones in breathing lattices

This work considers nearest-neighbour classical Heisenberg interactions, both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic, and study how the anisotropy of breathing lattices modifies the mode spectrum of pyrochlore and kagome systems.

Order, disorder, and monopole confinement in the spin- 12 XXZ model on a pyrochlore tube

We study the ground state and thermodynamic properties of the spin-half XXZ model, with an Ising interaction J z and a transverse exchange interaction J x , on a pyrochlore tube obtained by joining

Extremely slow nonequilibrium monopole dynamics in classical spin ice

We report on the non-equilibrium monopole dynamics in the classical spin ice Dy$_2$Ti$_2$O$_7$ detected by means of high-resolution magnetostriction measurements. Significant lattice changes occur at

Quantum and Classical Phases of the Pyrochlore Heisenberg Model with Competing Interactions

We investigate the quantum Heisenberg model on the pyrochlore lattice for a generic spin-$S$ in the presence of nearest-neighbor $J_{1}$ and second-nearest-neighbor $J_{2}$ exchange interactions. By

Magnetization process of the breathing pyrochlore magnet CuInCr4S8 in ultrahigh magnetic fields up to 150 T

The magnetization process of the breathing pyrochlore magnet CuInCr4S8 has been investigated in ultra-high magnetic fields up to 150 T. Successive phase transitions characterized with a substantially

Chromium breathing pyrochlores as a showcase for a variety of pyrochlore Hamiltonians

We investigate all six structurally characterized chromium-based breathing pyrochlores using a combination of density functional theory and pseudofermion functional renormalization group
