TLDR
With the increase of the proportion of the elderly in the total population more cases of pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis (TB) are observed in this age group as well, and may therefore cause a delay in the diagnostic process.
Verbessern Sie die Prognose Ihrer Lungenpatienten!
TLDR

TLDR
The IGRA are integrated into existing guidelines for the management of tuberculosis and have been elaborated by national expert committees of England, the USA and Switzerland.

TLDR
The tuberculin skin test is still the only sufficiently documented method to detect latent infection with M. tuberculosis and should be performed exclusively as described by Mendel and Mantoux, but should be restricted to individuals at increased risk of latent TB infection.
Interferon-γ-Tests in der Tuberkulose-Diagnostik - Aktueller Stand
TLDR
The function of the IFN-γ tests is explained and an overview of the most recent data, possible indications and the open scientific questions to be investigated by future clinical studies are given.
[Pleuritis tuberculosa - therapeutic value of repeated chest tapping].
TLDR
It is shown that in patients with tuberculous pleuritis repeated chest tapping in addition to antituberculous medication does not seem to benefit the patient, as neither the degree of residual pleural thickening nor the restrictive lung function impairment seem to be influenced significantly.
Treatment of Invasive Pulmonary Aspergillosis in Neutropenic Patients by Additional Bronchoscopic Amphotericin B Instillation
TLDR
Bronchoscopic instillation of amB should be considered as an additional treatment option in cases with IPA unresponsive to systemic therapy in patients with haematological malignancies complicated by severe IPA.
[Intracutaneous tuberculin test using the Mendel-Mantoux technique. Tuberculin reactivity among inpatients in a pneumology department].
TLDR
A high prevalence of tuberculosis infection among hospitalized patients in a pneumological department of an inner-city hospital was revealed and the usefulness of routine tuberculin skin testing in hospitalized populations was assessed.
