In the past years many new excited charmed baryon states have been discovered by BaBar, Belle and CLEO. In particular, B factories have provided a very rich source of charmed baryons both from B decays and from the continuum ee → cc̄. A new era for the charmed baryon spectroscopy is opened by the rich mass spectrum and the relatively narrow widths of the excited states.
