Wolf-Rayet type spectra of central stars are compared with spectra from Pop. I objects. Non-LTE models for expanding atmospheres are applied for analyzing these spectra quantitatively.

Line formation in expanding atmospheres: the treatment of radiative equilibrium by approximate lambda operators, and its application to Wolf-Rayet stars

V 348 Sagittarii: analysis of the [WC 12] stellar spectrum

The Wolf-Rayet type spectrum of the highly variable V 348 Sgr, central star of a planetary nebula, is analyzed. An optical spectrum during maximum shows various emission and P-Cygni features, which

The Sixth Catalogue of galactic Wolf-Rayet stars, their past and present

This paper presents the Sixth Catalogue of galactic Wolf-Rayet stars (Pop. I), a short history on the five earlier WR catalogues, improved spectral classification, finding charts, a discussion on

Late stages of stellar evolution. II: Mass loss and the transition of asymptotic giant branch stars into hot remnants

We have computed the transition of asymptotic branch giants of 0.8 and 1.0 M/sub sun/ into remnants of 0.565, 0.553, and 0.546 M/sub sun/ by means of mass loss which removed the stellar envelopes in

Discovery of a new cool WR star in a low excitation planetary nebula

Hydrostatic evolutionary sequences for the nuclei of planetary nebulae

An iterative method for the solution of the statistical and radiative equilibrium equations in expanding atmospheres
