We present relative astrometric measurements of visual binaries, made in 2014 with the speckle camera PISCO at the 102-cm Zeiss telescope of Brera Astronomical Observatory, in Merate. Our observing list contains orbital couples as well as binaries whose motion is still uncertain. We obtained 224 new measurements of 218 visual binary stars, with angular separations in the range 0 ′′ .15-10 ′′ , and an average accuracy of 0 ′′ .015. The mean error on the position angles is 0 • .5. Most of the…

Surveying the Bright Stars by Optical Interferometry. II. A Volume-limited Multiplicity Survey of Main-sequence F Stars

We present the results of a multiplicity survey for a volume-limited sample of 29 main-sequence F0–G0 stars within 17 pc conducted with the Navy Precision Optical Interferometer (NPOI). Four

Speckle Interferometry at the U.S. Naval Observatory. XXIV

The results of 3611 intensified CCD observations of double stars, made with the 26 inch refractor of the U.S. Naval Observatory, are presented. Each observation of a system represents a combination

Speckle imaging produces diffraction-limited images from ground-based telescopes. Recent advancements in detectors such as electron-multiplying CCDs (EMCCDs), have spawned a resurgence of this

Understanding the Impacts of Stellar Companions on Planet Formation and Evolution: A Survey of Stellar and Planetary Companions within 25 pc

We explore the impact of outer stellar companions on the occurrence rate of giant planets detected with radial velocities. We searched for stellar and planetary companions to a volume-limited sample
