The study of the structure and molecular mechanism of action of one of the few effective antiprotozoa preparations manufactured in Russia, Chimcoccid ( N , N 'bis ( p -chlorobenzylideneamino)guanidine, BG), led us to the conclusion that, in folded conformations (the most preferable for BG) [1], the remote chlorine atoms approach each other at a distance of 3.7 Å due to the attraction between the benzene rings (according to the molecular mechanics data) [2].
