Anatomy and morphology of Mercuria species of the Mediterranean region and Madeira were examined. Four new species of Mercuria, M. rolani n. sp., M. tingitana n. sp., M. bakeri n. sp. and M. targuasensis n. sp., are described based on conchological and anatomical evidence. An identification key and a distribution map of Mercuria of the Mediterranean region and Madeira are also provided. key WorDs: Mercuria, distribution, Mediterranean region, Madeira, new descriptions
Two new species of the genera Islamia and Mercuria (Gastropoda, Hydrobiidae) from Morocco
Two new hydrobiid species Islamia karawiyiensis n. sp and Mercuria atlasica n. sp. are described here from Fez prefecture of Morocco. Samples were collected in 2020. Photos of the holotypes are
A new genus and two new species (Gastropoda, Hydrobiidae) from Morocco
From 2014 to 2019 at more than 100 localities freshwater molluscs were collected along the basin of Moulouya River and Oriental Region of Morocco. These samples revealed two new hydrobiid species
The genus Mercuria Boeters, 1971 in Morocco: first molecular phylogeny of the genus and description of two new species (Caenogastropoda, Truncatelloidea, Hydrobiidae)
TLDR
It is proposed that the most efficient approach to delimit and identify Mercuria species is to combine morphological descriptions with genetic data.
Description of a new subspecies of Pseudamnicola Paulucci, 1878 (Caenogastropoda: Truncatelloidea: Hydrobiidae)
A new subspecies of Pseudamnicola (P.) moussonii is described for the Pseudamnicola populations inhabiting the Maltese Islands. Key WorDs: Pseudamnicola, Maltese Islands, new subspecies
Hidden species diversity of Corrosella Boeters, 1970 (Caenogastropoda: Truncatelloidea) in the Moroccan Atlas reveals the ancient biogeographic link between North Africa and Iberia
TLDR
The biogeography of Corrosella in the western Maghreb has been shaped by old vicariance events likely associated with the Late Miocene-Pliocene geological setting of the region and their interplay with the isolation conditions of springs, suggesting new insight into faunal relationships between North Africa and Europe.
Global species richness of hydrobiid snails determined by climate and evolutionary history

The genus Mercuria Boeters, 1971 in Morocco: first molecular phylogeny of the genus and description of two new species (Caenogastropoda, Truncatelloidea, Hydrobiidae)
TLDR
This study examines the three Mercuria species from Morocco identified so far and proposes that the most efficient approach to delimit and identifyMercuria species is to combine morphological descriptions with genetic data.

TLDR
This compilation is a prelude to the first rigorous phylogenetic analysis of the higher taxa of this cosmopolitan, yet poorly understood, group, for which at least 70 family-group taxa have been proposed.

TLDR
An update of the checklist of continental molluscs of France by Falkner et al. (2002) is presented, aiming to provide an updated taxonomic framework, resulting from ten years of research on mollusc systematics.
