A study was conducted in a disturbed mangrove forest that had been gazetted as a national park in Sarawak, Malaysia. This study provides information regarding the status of disturbed mangroves and can be used as baseline data to support decision making in managing mangrove forests. The objectives of this study were to determine the tree species composition and structure of an exploited mangrove forest. This study was carried out in Kuching Wetland National Park (KWNP). Eight transects were…

Natural and Anthropogenic Variation of Stand Structure and Aboveground Biomass in Niger Delta Mangrove Forests

Mangrove forests are important coastal wetlands because of the ecosystem services they provide especially their carbon potential. Mangrove forests productivity in the Niger Delta are poorly

Factors influencing biodiversity and distributional gradients in mangroves

It is believed influencing factors act similarly around the world, and examples of distributional gradients from the two global biogeographic regions, the Atlantic East Pacific and the Indo-West Pacific are presented.

Habitat use, ranging behaviour, and food habits of the proboscis monkey,Nasalis larvatus (van Wurmb), in Sarawak

Certain tidal forest species appeared to be the single most important food plants, although where high forests were available more feeding time was spent in these types than in tidal forests or other habitats.

The Botany Of Mangroves

The the botany of mangroves is universally compatible with any devices to read and is available in the digital library an online access to it is set as public so you can get it instantly.

Mineral and phytochemical influences on foliage selection by the proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus).

Comparison of diverse nutrients in native diets may provide insight into suitability of domestic animals models for providing adequate diets in captive feeding situations, as well as help define resource limitations in natural environments.
