The present dissertation is composed of two chapters in manuscript form, both with the purpose of evaluating the demersal mesozooplankton community of reef environments, in Tamandaré (chapter 1) and

Molecular and morphometric analysis of nominal Brachidontes exustus (Mollusca, Mytilidae) in Brazilian waters

TLDR
Whether B. exustus extends beyond the Amazon Barrier and southward along the Brazilian West Atlantic coast is determined and its proposed new name is B. noronhensis, demonstrating an independent evolutionary history since at least the beginning of the Pleistocene.

Connectivity Between Coastal and Oceanic Zooplankton From Rio Grande do Norte in the Tropical Western Atlantic

The zooplankton off the coast of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil was studied during four oceanographic campaigns from July 2002 to May 2004. A Bongo net (mesh sizes of 64 m, 120 m, and 300 m) was used

Holoplankton and meroplankton of three western Atlantic sedimentary basins

ABSTRACT Holoplankton and meroplankton were investigated in three different basins of the Brazilian Equatorial Margin, from January to May of 2015. The copepods Clausocalanus furcatus, Undinula

Spatial and nycthemeral distribution of the zooneuston off Fernando de Noronha, Brazil

TLDR

Distribution of the species of Lucifer Thompson, 1829 in the subtropical South Atlantic between parallels 20º and 30ºs

TLDR

Seasonal distribution of Crustacea Decapoda larvae in S. Torpes bay, South-western Portugal

TLDR

Neste artigo, compilamos as

Spatial and temporal distribution of decapod larvae in the subtropical waters of the Arvoredo archipelago, SC, Brazil

TLDR
Decapoda and Stomatopoda larvae occurred throughout the year, showing that reproduction is continuous, but that larval input in planktonic community was significantly higher during autumn and spring.

Checklist of the Decapods (Crustacea) from the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago, Brazil

TLDR
This work presents a list of crustacean decapods species collected around Fernando de Noronha Archipelago, between November 1991 and August 1993, and also January 2000, as well as those collected during the Almirante Saldanha Expedition.

Spatial-Temporal Variability of the Thermohaline Properties in the Coastal Region of Fernando de Noronha Archipelago, Brazil

ABSTRACT Assunção, R.V.; Silva, A.C.; Martins, J., and Flores Montes, M., 2016. Spatial-Temporal variability of the thermohaline properties in the coastal region of Fernando de Noronha Archipelago,

Distribution of decapod larvae in the surface layer of an isolated equatorial oceanic archipelago: the cases of benthic Grapsus grapsus (Brachyura: Grapsidae) and pelagic Sergestes edwardsi (Dendrobranchiata: Sergestidae)

TLDR
The distribution of larvae of S. edwardsi was typical of a holopelagic species, which are permanent residents of the water column and spawn in oceanic areas, indicating that the islands are of little influence to them.

Temporal and alongshore distribution of decapod larvae in the oceanic island of Gran Canaria (NW Africa)

Larval transport strongly influences neritic populations of oceanic islands. We investigated the spatial-temporal variability of the assemblage of decapod larvae at the shelf edge off Gran Canaria

New records of the larval forms Cerataspis monstrosa and Amphionides reynaudii (Crustacea: Decapoda) from the western tropical Atlantic.

TLDR
Two new records for decapod larval forms in pelagic environments off oceanic islands in the western tropical Atlantic are reported, and detailed diagnoses and images of these larvae are provided.
