In this paper, spatial and temporal variability of drought in Balochistan has been investigated using 36 years (1975–2010) of monthly precipitation data recorded at 23 rain gauge stations in the study area. In order to detect and understand precipitation trend on drought severity, Mann–Kendall test is used. Standardized precipitation index is used to compute the severity of drought. Inverse distance weighted method has been used to illustrate the spatial and temporal aspects of drought with…
Spatial and temporal fluctuation of rainfall and drought in Balochistan province, Pakistan
Drought is a multifaceted hydro-meteorological phenomenon that occurs due to a reduction in the amount of rainfall which increases complexity as well as scarcity in arid to semi-arid region. This

Spatio-temporal characteristics of meteorological drought in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan
TLDR
Drought and wet spell patterns were identified using the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) and revealed distinct drought spells in 1971–1974, 1984–1989, 1998–2004 and recently in 2017–2018, in almost all met-stations results.
