This paper describes the theory and an experimental application of digital inverse filtering applied to the correction of the response of sound systems in car compartments. The aim of this correction is not simply to equalise the frequency response of the system: by a proper implementation of the inverse filters, it is possible to create a transaural system, which makes it possible to move the “virtual position” of the sound sources. So the listening conditions for the driver are made similar… Expand
