Sovereign Spheres: Princes, Education, and Empire in Colonial India
@inproceedings{Bhagavan2003SovereignSP, title={Sovereign Spheres: Princes, Education, and Empire in Colonial India}, author={M. Bhagavan}, year={2003} }
This book explores educational reform alongside debates on modernity and anticolonial nationalism in two major princely states, Baroda and Mysore, in 20th-century India. It argues for a deeper understanding of the heretofore largely ignored Indian princely states, and seeks to restore their importance by dispelling traditional misconceptions about their role in Indian colonial history.
