The sound pressure correlates of the second heart sound were studied in 22 patients during diagnostic cardiac catheterization. Simultaneous right ventricular and pulmonary artery pressures were recorded with equisensitive catheter-tip micromanometers together with the external phonocardiogram and ECG.
