Objective. The purpose of this study was to describe the sonographic findings of Zenker diverticula. Methods. This study included 6 patients (age, 26–70 years; average, 55.3 years). Three cases were detected incidentally by thyroid sonograms, and 3 cases were transferred from other hospitals for aspiration of a thyroid nodule. All the sonograms and medical records were reviewed retrospectively. Results. All 6 patients had no symptoms, and diverticula were incidentally detected by neck…
Sonographic diagnosis features of Zenker diverticulum.
Fine‐needle aspiration of a pharyngoesophageal diverticulum mimicking a calcified thyroid nodule on ultrasonography
TLDR
A case of PED misinterpreted as a thyroid lesion on ultrasonography is reported, followed by a review of the literature on internal echogenic foci within the PED.
Characteristic analysis of Zenker’s diverticulum incidentally detected on multimodal neck ultrasound
TLDR
The US features of Zenker’s diverticulum detected by multiple modes of US can help in the collection of comprehensive imaging information on ZD, which should be used proactively to facilitate the correct diagnosis and to avoid misdiagnosis.
Zenker Diverticulum: A Potential Pitfall in Thyroid Ultrasound Evaluation: A Case Report and Systematic Review of Literature.
TLDR
A correct US evaluation can be crucial for the appropriate management of a neck mass and Zenker Diverticulum can sometimes be misinterpreted as a thyroid nodule both at clinical evaluation and at Ultrasound.
[Sonographic differential diagnosis of thyroid nodule. Pharyngoesophageal diverticulum].
TLDR
Thyroid nodules located near the left trachea with a hyperechogenic border, beneath which a hypoechogenic zone and an echogenic center are seen, are highly suspicious for diverticulum of the hypopharynx/esophagus and should be investigated further.
Zenker's Diverticulum Suspected to be a Thyroid Nodule Diagnosed on Fine Needle Aspiration: A Case Report
TLDR
A case of Zenker's dverticulitum suspected to be a thyroid nodule on US and performed US-guided FNA with examination of cytology in this patient, diagnosed as having a Zenker’s diverticulum.
Incidental pharyngoesophageal diverticulum mistaken for a thyroid nodule: Report of two cases
TLDR
Fine‐needle aspiration is reported on the FNA diagnosis of two cases of Zenker's diverticulum that were suspected to be thyroid nodules on US and CT findings were consistent with the diagnosis.
A pediatric case of Zenker diverticulum: imaging findings.
TLDR
A 10-year-old boy with Zenker diverticulum who presented with aspiration pneumonia, dysphagia, regurgitation, and halitosis is reported who clearly demonstrated the pathological findings and confirmed the diagnosis.
Ultrasonographic findings of pharyngoesophageal diverticulum: two case reports and review of literature
TLDR
The ultrasonic findings of pharyngoesophageal diverticulum are summarized to avoid unnecessary fine-needle aspirate biopsy or surgical treatment.

Sonographic demonstration of a pharyngoesophageal diverticulum
TLDR
Real‐time sonography performed during the patient's ingestion of water showed transient changes in the size, margins, and echogenicity of the lesion, which subsequently reverted to its original appearance.

TLDR
Killian-Jamieson diverticula are less likely to cause symptoms and more likely to be associated with overflow aspiration or gastroesophageal reflux than is Zenker's diverticulum.

TLDR
Two cases of Zenker's diverticulum diagnosed by ultrasonography are reported, and awareness of sonographic symptoms of this entity and real-time demonstration of movement of the contents (air, water, or debris) to and from the Diverticulum help make the correct diagnosis.
Lateral diverticula from the pharyngo-esophageal junction area.
Conventional single-radiograph technique and cineradiography were used for examination of the pharyngo-esophageal junction area during contrast medium swallowing in 500 patients with dysphagia and in
New sonographic criteria for recommending fine-needle aspiration biopsy of nonpalpable solid nodules of the thyroid.
TLDR
Considering the high level of sensitivity of the proposed sonographic classification, fine-needle aspiration biopsy should be performed on thyroid nodules classified as positive, regardless of palpability.

Incidentally found pharyngoesophageal diverticulum on ultrasonography.
TLDR
A case of pharyngoesophageal diverticulum mimicking a thyroid nodule is presented, which was found incidentally by ultrasonography, and its peculiar findings are discussed, which might be useful to diagnose and prevent invasive procedures such as needle aspiration biopsy.
