PMS-dependent photophosphorylation in bundle sheath chloroplasts isolated from Zea mays was monitored by using a continuous method. Carbonyl cyanide p-trifluoromethoxyphenylhydrazone (FCCP) and venturicidin were shown to inhibit the ATP-synthesis. Venturicidin has been shown to inhibit ATP-formation in both mesophyll and bundle sheath chloroplasts.
