At present the nematode genus Rhabdochona Railliet, 1916 (Rhabdochonidae) comprises 92 possibly valid species, mostly intestinal parasites of freshwater fishes in all zoogeographical regions. Because of the absence of any phylogenetic studies using molecular methods in this nematode group, an attempt to evaluate affinities among these parasites and their zoogeography on the basis of morphological features and host-parasite relationships has been carried out. Only true definitive hosts should be… Expand

The morphology and systematics of Rhabdochonapaski Baylis, 1928 (Nematoda: Rhabdochonidae), a widespread parasite of freshwater fishes in Africa
TLDR
The occurrence of this widely distributed African nematode in many fish species belonging to different families and orders suggests that most of them are probably not definitive hosts of this parasite, but only serve as paratenic, paradefinitive or postcyclic hosts. Expand

New data on the morphology and taxonomy of three species of Rhabdochona (Nematoda:Rhabdochonidae) parasitizing fishes in India.
TLDR
Specimens of three little-known species of Rhabdochona were collected during occasional examinations of some freshwater fishes in India and revealed some taxonomically important, previously not observed features and made possible their redescription. Expand
