The new combination Eudimeriolum cyathearum is proposed for Dimeriella cyathearum; the fungus is found on pinnae of Cyathea caudata in the Philippine Islands. Dimeriella polypodii is described from scales on pinnae of Polypodium montigenum and P. madrense in Mexico. Bioscypha cyatheae, on pinnae of Cyathea sp. in Costa Rica, is redescribed. Bioscypha pteridicola is described from pinnae of Cnemidaria uleana var. abitaguensis in Colombia. Crocicreas sessilis is described from pinnae of Cyathea…

Hongos ascomicetos del bosque mesófilo de montaña en México

An update of the species of Ascomycetes recorded for cloud forest in Mexico is presented and it was found that the trophic group of the saprobes is the same as in Veracruz.

Phylogenetic relationships of Chalara and allied species inferred from ribosomal DNA sequences

The phylogenetic relationships of Chalara and allied taxa are studied based on ribosomal DAN sequences and morphological characters observed in Chalara species are evaluated based on sequence analyses.

Multilocus phylogeny of Acrospermaceae: New epibiotic species and placement of Gonatophragmium, Pseudovirgaria, and Phaeodactylium anamorphs

P phylogenetic analyses using an eight-marker comprehensive ascomycete data set comprising 719 species representing all major lineages along with 23 new Acrospermum specimens sampled from ferns show a strong phylogenetic pattern in lifestyles but do not clearly identify an ancestral life history state.

Mycosphaerellaceous fungi and new species of Venustosynnema and Zasmidium on ferns and fern allies in Taiwan

The ranges of distribution, host species, morphology, and the taxonomy of some species were revised and ITS rDNA sequences proved to be useful for distinguishing between species on the same host.
