Somatosensory and pain responses to direct intracerebral stimulations of the SII area were obtained in 14 patients referred for epilepsy surgery. Stimulations were delivered using transopercular electrodes exploring the parietal opercular cortex (SII area), the suprasylvian parietal cortex (SI area) and the insular cortex.
