A solvent evaporation route to produce hierarchically porous zeolites with an oriented MFI nanocrystalline structure has been developed, and the method is scalable and low cost. In this method, hexadecyltrimethoxysilane is added to an ethanol solution containing zeolitic precursors. A dry gel is formed during the evaporation process.
