Skyrme theory is among the viable effective theories which emerge from the low-energy limit of quantum chromodynamics. Many of its generalizations include also a dilaton. Here we find new self-gravitating solutions, both solitons and black holes, in a generalized Skyrme model in which a dilaton is present. The investigation of the properties of the solutions is done numerically. We find that the introduction of the dilaton in the theory does not change the picture qualitatively, only… Expand
Scalar hairy black holes and solitons in a gravitating Goldstone model
Abstract We study black hole solutions of Einstein gravity coupled to a specific global symmetry breaking Goldstone model described by an O ( 3 ) isovector scalar field in four spacetime dimensions.Expand
Spinning σ-model solitons in 2 + 1 anti-de Sitter space
Abstract We obtain numerical solutions for rotating topological solitons of the nonlinear σ -model in three-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. Two types of solutions, i ) and ii ), are found. The σExpand
Hedgehog ansatz and its generalization for self-gravitating Skyrmions
The hedgehog ansatz for spherically symmetric spacetimes in self-gravitating nonlinear sigma models and Skyrme models is revisited and its generalization for nonspherically symmetric spacetimes isExpand
Rotating AdS-Einstein universes from constrained metrics
The imposition of a constraint between the metric tensor elements in both three- and four-dimensional, rotating AdS space-times is shown to reduce the number of independent equations of motion and toExpand
Growing hair on the extremal BTZ black hole
Abstract We show that the nonlinear σ-model in an asymptotically A d S 3 space-time admits a novel local symmetry. The field action is assumed to be quartic in the nonlinear σ-model fields andExpand
Topological or rotational non-Abelian gauge fields from Einstein-Skyrme holography
We report analytically known states at non-zero temperature which may serve as a powerful tool to reveal common topological and thermodynamic properties of systems ranging from the QCD phase diagramExpand
