The mushroom Flammulina velutipes and the white-rot fungus Trametes versicolor were cultivated separately on sugarcane bagasse for 40 days. Trametes versicolor produced laccase and manganese-peroxidase activities, showing a simultaneous degradation of lignin and holocellulose.
