Zinc oxide-based heterojunctions are promising material systems for optoelectronic devices to overcome the challenges of growing stable p-type ZnO. In this work, CdS@n-ZnO/ p-Si nanowires heterojunctions were fabricated through a combination of wet-chemical etching (Si NWs) and atomic layer deposition (ZnO) techniques followed by chemical bath deposition (CdS).
