Abstract Sol-hydrothermal in situ synthesized Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 /rutile-TiO 2 (I-LTO/RTO) composite was characterized as anode materials for high rate lithium-ion batteries. For comparison, the electrochemical performances of pure Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 (LTO) and M-LTO/RTO, a mechanical mixture of Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 and rutile-TiO 2 , were also studied.
