Two main points of dispute are discussed: first, the potential error in the 14C dating of end moraines using buried soils; second, the date of the 'Little Ice Age' glacier maximum and associated moraines in southern Norway. Because of the 'age/depth effect' in well-developed soils, it is concluded that overestimates of moraine age in excess of 1000 years are possible.
