The first in the world ternary computer - “Setun” was developed at Moscow State University in 1958 and was serialized in 1961-1965 by Kazan Mathematical Machines Plant. “Setun” was aimed to solve middle-level tasks and was intended for use at design bureaus, universities, research institutes, factories, etc. Developers were able to create a small-size, inexpensive, reliable and easy-to-service computer.
