In theories of phyiscs beyond the Standard Model (SM), visible sector fields often carry quantum numbers under additional gauge symmetries. One could then imagine a scenario in which these extra gauge symmetries play a role in transmitting supersymmetry breaking from a hidden sector to the Supersymmetric Standard Model (SSM). In this paper we present a general formalism for studying the resulting hidden sectors and calculating the corresponding gauge mediated soft parameters. We find that a… Expand

Dirac Gauginos, Gauge Mediation and Unification
We investigate the building of models with Dirac gauginos and perturbative gauge coupling unification. Here, in contrast to the MSSM, additional fields are required for unification, and these canExpand
Global symmetries and D-terms in supersymmetric field theories
We study the role of D-terms in supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking. By carefully analyzing the SUSY multiplets containing various conserved currents in theories with global symmetries, we obtain a numberExpand
Warped general gauge mediation
We develop the formalism of "general gauge mediation" for five-dimensional theories in a slice of AdS space. A set of current correlators encodes the effect of a supersymmetry breaking hidden sectorExpand
Patterns of soft masses from general semi-direct gauge mediation
We give a general formulation of semi-direct gauge mediation of supersymmetry breaking where the messengers interact with the hidden sector only through a weakly gauged group. Using this generalExpand
On messengers and metastability in gauge mediation
Abstract One notoriously difficult problem in perturbative gauge mediation of supersymmetry breaking via messenger fields is the generic presence of a phenomenologically unacceptable vacuum withExpand
Exploring holographic general gauge mediation
A bstractWe study models of gauge mediation with strongly coupled hidden sectors, employing a hard wall background as an holographic dual description. The structure of the soft spectrum dependsExpand
Gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking in five dimensions
In this thesis we focus on the construction of models in which a supersymmetry breaking hidden sector is located on one fixed point of an extra dimensional interval and the effects are gauge mediatedExpand
Light third-generation squarks from flavour gauge messengers
A bstractWe study models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking with a gauged horizontal SU(3)F symmetry acting on the quark superfields. If SU(3)F is broken nonsupersymmetrically by F -term vacuumExpand
General gauge mediation and deconstruction
We locate a supersymmetry breaking hidden sector and supersymmetric standard model on different lattice points of an orbifold moose. The hidden sector is encoded in a set of current correlators andExpand
Simplified R-symmetry breaking and low-scale gauge mediation
A bstractWe argue that some of the difficulties in constructing realistic models of lowscale gauge mediation are artifacts of the narrow set of models that have been studied. In particular, muchExpand

Dirac gaugino masses and supersoft supersymmetry breaking
We introduce a new supersymmetric extension of the standard model in which the gauge sector contains complete N = 2 supersymmetry multiplets. Supersymmetry breaking from the D-term vev of a hiddenExpand

Gauge/Anomaly Syzygy and Generalized Brane World Models of Supersymmetry Breaking
In theories in which SUSY is broken on a brane separated from the MSSM matter fields, supersymmetry breaking is naturally mediated in a variety of ways. Absent other light fields in the theory,Expand
Gauge extensions of supersymmetric models and hidden valleys
Supersymmetric models with extended group structure beyond the standard model are revisited in the framework of general gauge mediation. Sum rules for sfermion masses are shown to depend genuinely onExpand
Anomaly, gauge and gaugino mediation in brane worlds with messenger matter.
The effects in such theories of new messenger fields with standard model gauge charges and with direct couplings to the supersymmetry breaking sector are considered, finding that the tachyonic slepton problem of anomaly mediation and the stable slepta problem of gaugino mediation can be cured. Comments on General Gauge Mediation
There has been interest in generalizing models of gauge mediation of supersymmetry breaking. As shown by Meade, Seiberg, and Shih (MSS), the soft masses of general gauge mediation can be expressed inExpand
Z'-mediated supersymmetry breaking.
