Extreme floods have serious social and economic impacts on a community. Flood disaster affects people’s live and livelihoods in many ways; this include lost of lives, injury, illness or stress (physically and psychologically), destruction of houses and disruption of social networks. This study examines the extent of damages and losses caused by the two major extreme flood events (August 7 th , 2005 and August 14 th , 2011) in the study area.
