Internet of things (IoT) has emerged as a new paradigm for the future Internet. In IoT, enormous devices are connected to the Internet and thereby being a huge data source for numerous applications. In this article, we focus on addressing data management in IoT through using a smart data pricing (SDP) approach. With SDP, data can be managed flexibly and efficiently through intelligent and adaptive incentive mechanisms. Moreover, it is a major source of revenue for providers and partners. We…

Data Collection and Wireless Communication in Internet of Things (IoT) Using Economic Analysis and Pricing Models: A Survey
TLDR
This paper reviews numerous applications of the economic and pricing models, known as intelligent rational decision-making methods, to develop adaptive algorithms and protocols for WSNs and considers the use of some pricing models in machine-to-machine (M2M) communication.
Data Collection and Communication in the Wireless Internet of Things (IoT) Using Economic Analysis and Pricing Models: A Survey
TLDR
This paper reviews numerous applications of the economic and pricing models, known as intelligent rational decision-making methods, to develop adaptive algorithms and protocols for WSNs, and surveys a variety of pricing strategies in providing incentives for phone users in crowdsensing applications.
Development of Fog based Dynamic Resource Allocation and Pricing Model in IoT
TLDR
Algorithm for fog based resource allocation and pricing model for IoT devices, based on the priorities of the user’s request is proposed and the pricing is allocated to the users for their request's.
A trust-aware micropayment system for data muling in cloud environment: a Blockchain based approach
TLDR
A trust-aware micropayment system based on the blockchain (BC) technology where the global amount of money is converted into a number of tokens, and the actors pay each others by employing the same coins.
Micro-billing Framework for IoT: Research & Technological Foundations
TLDR
A high-level requirement analysis is carried out to identify key technological and scientific building blocks for laying the foundation of an innovative micro-billing framework named IoTBnB (IoT puBlication aNd Billing).
INTERNET OF THINGS-BASED PRODUCTS/SERVICES: PROCESS AND CHALLENGES ON DEVELOPING THE BUSINESS MODELS
TLDR
This article analyzes data from an action research involving the generation of a business model for an IoT-based product - a smart locker – in a small company and explores how this process occurred and the challenges faced.
Charging and Discharging of Plug-In Electric Vehicles (PEVs) in Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Systems: A Cyber Insurance-Based Model
TLDR
This paper proposes a learning algorithm to help the PEV user make optimal decisions, e.g., to charge or discharge and to buy or not to buy insurance, in an online fashion, and shows that cyber insurance is an efficient solution not only in dealing with cyber risks, but also in maximizing revenue for thePEV user.
ADAPTATION AND USABILITY OF QR CODES FOR SUBSCRIPTION TO MOBILE NETWORK OPERATORS SERVICES
TLDR
This paper examined and demonstrated the feasibility of employing Quick Response (QR) code as a more secured payment alternative to recharge vouchers and evaluated the performance of the developed QR code mobile payment method for three month periods.

TLDR
Analysis of a monopoly telecom operator's decision on the adoption of shared data plans finds a threshold on the unit usage cost below which the shared data plan yields more profits than single device data plans.
Pricing Decision Analysis for Information Services of the Internet of Things Based on Stackelberg Game
TLDR
A pricing model based on Stackelberg game by Intermediaries and information providers is constructed and it is drawn that if the price of intelligent terminal equipment is expensive, the information provider shall adopt pure bundling strategy, whereas take pure components strategy.

TLDR
A novel Reverse Auction based Dynamic Price (RADP) incentive mechanism, where users can sell their sensing data to a service provider with users' claimed bid prices, which reduces the incentive cost for retaining same number of participants by more than 60% and improves the fairness of incentive distribution and social welfare.
Exploring bundling sale strategy in online service markets with network effects
TLDR
It is shown that bundling is more profitable than separate sale in most cases; however, the heterogeneity of services and the asymmetry of operating costs reduce the advantage of bundling.
