  • PurposeThe exact pathogenesis of pulmonary hypoplasia in the nitrofen-induced congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) still remains unclear. Smad1, one of the bone morphogenesis protein (BMP) receptor downstream signaling proteins, plays a key role in organogenesis including lung development and maturation.
