This study proposes a non invasive method for slow wave sleep (SWS) detection using basic heart rate (HR) monitor recordings without EEG. This method was used to compare the HR variability components between young adolescents and adults. Overnight recordings of beat-to-beat RR series of 14 adults (5 women/9 men) and 19 adolescents (5 girls/14 boys) were achieved at home.
