Suicidal patients often report problems with their sleep. Although sleep-related complaints and EEG (electroencephalographic) changes have been seen widely across the spectrum of psychiatric disorders, sleep complaints such as insomnia, hypersomnia, nightmares, and sleep panic attacks are more common in suicidal patients.
