Traumatic injury from sledding and tobogganing can be reduced. The objective of this study was to determine the incidence of sledding and tobogganing deaths in Ontario. Operator, vehicle (sled), and environmental factors associated with these events were also examined. A retrospective series of cases from the Provincial Chief Coroner's Office identified all patients fatally injured while sledding or tobogganing in Ontario between 1986 and 1991.
