We study two-body interactions of magnetic skyrmions on the plane and apply them to a (mostly) analytic description of a skyrmion lattice. This is done in the context of the solvable line, a particular choice of a potential for magnetic anisotropy and Zeeman terms, where analytic expressions for skyrmions are available. Along the solvable line the interaction energy for a pair of skyrmions is repulsive with power law fall off in contrast to the exponential decay found when the potential…

Effective field theory of magnons: Chiral magnets and the Schwinger mechanism
We develop the effective field theoretical descriptions of spin systems in the presence of symmetry-breaking effects: the magnetic field, single-ion anisotropy, and Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction.
Exact Phase Structure of One Dimensional Chiral Magnets
We determine exactly the phase structure of a chiral magnet in one spatial dimension with the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction and a potential that is a function of the third component of the
Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya type interaction
We study two dimensional soliton solutions in the CP 2 nonlinear σ-model with a Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya type interaction. First, we derive such a model as a continuous limit of the SU(3) tilted
Near-BPS baby Skyrmions with Gaussian tails
We consider the baby Skyrme model in a physically motivated limit of reaching the restricted or BPS baby Skyrme model, which is a model that enjoys area-preserving diffeomorphism invariance. The
Background fields and self-dual Skyrmions
We show that a suitable background field can bring a non-BPS topological soliton into its BPS, self-dual, counterpart. As an example we consider Skyrmions in the minimal Skyrme model. We prove the
Isolated skyrmions in the CP2 nonlinear sigma model with a Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya type interaction
We study two dimensional soliton solutions in the $CP^2$ nonlinear $\sigma$-model with a Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya type interaction. First, we derive such a model as a continuous limit of the $SU(3)$
Exploring instantons with spin-lattice systems
Instanton processes are present in a variety of quantum field theories relevant to high energy as well as condensed matter physics. While they have led to important theoretical insights and physical
Near-BPS baby Skyrmions
We consider the baby-Skyrme model in the regime close to the so-called restricted baby-Skyrme model, which is a BPS model with area-preserving diffeomorphism invariance. The perturbation takes the

Magnets without inversion symmetry are a prime example of a solid-state system featuring topological solitons on the nanoscale, and a promising candidate for novel spintronic applications. Magnetic
Skyrmion Lattice in a Chiral Magnet
This study experimentally establishes magnetic materials lacking inversion symmetry as an arena for new forms of crystalline order composed of topologically stable spin states in the chiral itinerant-electron magnet MnSi.
Skyrmion lattice in a two-dimensional chiral magnet
of the chiral magnet re-written in the CP 1 representation is shown to be a convenient framework for the analysis of the Skyrmion states. Phase diagram of the model at zero temperature gives a
Enhanced Stability of Skyrmions in Two-Dimensional Chiral Magnets with Rashba Spin-Orbit Coupling
Recent developments have led to an explosion of activity on skyrmions in three-dimensional (3D) chiral magnets. Experiments have directly probed these topological spin textures, revealed their
Skyrmion fractionalization and merons in chiral magnets with easy-plane anisotropy
We study the equilibrium phase diagram of ultrathin chiral magnets with easy-plane anisotropy $A$. The vast triangular skyrmion lattice phase that is stabilized by an external magnetic field evolves
Magnetic Skyrmions at Critical Coupling
We introduce a family of models for magnetic skyrmions in the plane for which infinitely many solutions can be given explicitly. The energy defining the models is bounded below by a linear
Spontaneous skyrmion ground states in magnetic metals
It is theoretically shown that skyrmion textures may form spontaneously in condensed-matter systems with chiral interactions without the assistance of external fields or the proliferation of defects, within a phenomenological continuum model based on a few material-specific parameters that can be determined experimentally.
Real-space observation of a two-dimensional skyrmion crystal
Real-space imaging of a two-dimensional skyrmion lattice in a thin film of Fe0.5Co 0.5Si using Lorentz transmission electron microscopy reveals a controlled nanometre-scale spin topology, which may be useful in observing unconventional magneto-transport effects.
Instantons in chiral magnets
We exhaustively construct instanton solutions and elucidate their properties in one-dimensional antiferromagnetic chiral magnets based on the O(3) nonlinear sigma model description of spin chains
Asymmetric isolated skyrmions in polar magnets with easy-plane anisotropy
We introduce a new class of isolated magnetic skyrmions emerging within tilted ferromagnetic phases of polar magnets with easy-plane anisotropy. The asymmetric magnetic structure of these skyrmions
