Rhytidectomy is a surgery of balance and judgment. The goal is to create a refreshed and natural look by lifting the midcheek and jowl tissues and by smoothing the neck bands and excess skin. Facial aging, however, is only partially explained by gravity and descent of facial and neck tissues. Fat compartments in the face atrophy, bone remodels, and the skin undergoes chronological and photoaging changes. Cutaneous photoaging is related to sun ultraviolet (UV)exposure. Combined rhytidectomy and full-face laser resurfacing.
TLDR
A series of patients undergoing a combined face lifting procedure with simultaneous laser resurfacing and superficial musculoaponeurotic system face lift in regard to preauricular skin loss demonstrates the safety of combining Laser resurfacing with the SMAS technique face lift.
Combination Surgical Lifting with Ablative Laser Skin Resurfacing of Facial Skin: A Retrospective Analysis
TLDR
Conurrent laser skin resurfacing and surgical lifting of facial skin maximizes aesthetic results without increased incidence of adverse effects and patients benefit from the consolidation of anesthesia and convalescent times.

TLDR
The combination of controlled skin resurfacing with face lifting is safe and effective and patients reported that they looked 15 to 20 years younger and the complexion continued to improve during the 1-year follow-up period.
Delayed healing of rhytidectomy flap resurfaced with CO2 laser.
TLDR
It is concluded that laser resurfacing of the rhytidectomy flap is unsafe and results in delayed re-epithelialization, and this combination should be avoided altogether or performed with extreme prudence on patients undergoing a deeper plane facial rhytidsectomy or by using very low laser settings.
Simultaneous Cutaneous Flap Elevation and Skin Resurfacing in the Rabbit Model
TLDR
The data suggest that caution must be used when flap elevation and skin resurfacing are performed simultaneously, especially with application ofSkin resurfacing in the dependent region of the flap, as well as with phenol peel.
Combined erbium:YAG laser resurfacing and face lifting.
TLDR
Although larger studies are necessary, it seems that the lack of thermal injury from the erbium:YAG laser makes it possible to safely perform laser resurfacing with surgical facial rejuvenation in nonsmokers, however, the authors caution that familiarity with the nuances of erbio-YAG lasers should be obtained before performing combined Laser resurfacing and face lifting.
Nonsurgical Nonablative Treatment of Aging Skin: Radiofrequency Technologies Between Aggressive Marketing and Evidence-Based Efficacy
TLDR
The current review aims at summarizing the various nonablative methods currently in use for skin rejuvenation and to evaluate the evidence-based efficacy of a particularnonablative radiofrequency method: monopolar radiofrequency.
Simultaneous rhytidectomy and full-face carbon dioxide laser resurfacing: a case series and meta-analysis.
TLDR
Simultaneous rhytidectomy and full-face carbon dioxide laser resurfacing can safely provide a dual cosmetic benefit option for aesthetic rejuvenation of the face.

TLDR
The pre‐ and postresurfacing care protocols currently in practice and the literature are determined in an effort to clarify which interventions can accelerate wound healing and improve efficacy of the treatment.
Use of combined modality for maximal resurfacing.
TLDR
It is found that appropriate patient selection, counseling, and technique have yielded a consistent result with a high degree of patient satisfaction and outcomes are maximized when one takes advantage of multiple modalities, combining resurfacing techniques, or when one combines resurfacing with surgical rejuvenation.
