SnS(2) nanocrystals with adjustable sizes were synthesized via a hydrothermal method from the aqueous solution of common and inexpensive SnCl(4)·5H(2)O, thioacetamide and citric acid, simply by varying the reaction temperature and reaction time. The structures, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) specific surface areas and optical properties of the resultant SnS(2) nanocrystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, N(2) adsorption/desorption isotherms, and UV-vis…

High-performance visible-light-driven SnS₂/SnO₂ nanocomposite photocatalyst prepared via in situ hydrothermal oxidation of SnS₂ nanoparticles.
TLDR
It was found that the as-prepared SnS ₂/SnO₂ nanocomposites with suitable SnO⁂ content not only demonstrated superior photocatalytic activity to both SnS₁ nanoparticles and physically mixed SnS¬2/ SnO¬1 composite nanoparticles, but also had remarkable photoc atalytic stability.
Novel approach to enhance photosensitized degradation of rhodamine B under visible light irradiation by the ZnxCd1-xS/TiO2 nanocomposites.
TLDR
The results showed that the composite of the two inorganic semiconductors largely enhanced the photosensitized degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation.
Improved catalytic capability of mesoporous TiO2 microspheres and photodecomposition of toluene.
TLDR
A series of mesoporous titanium dioxide microspheres calcined at various temperatures showed a superior photocatalytic performance, which had a reaction rate constant 2-fold higher than that of P(25), and a tentative degradation pathway was proposed.
Degradation and mineralization of bisphenol A by mesoporous Bi2WO6 under simulated solar light irradiation.
TLDR
It was found that the crystallinity of the catalysts played an important role on their degradation capacity to Bisphenol A (BPA), and Bi2WO6 catalyst showed the highest photocatalytic activity to degrade BPA under simulated solar light irradiation.
