Methods to isolate fungi from single spores are outlined. These methods are specifically designed for mycological laboratories which are not necessarily well funded. Therefore, they involve a simple procedure, are relatively inexpensive, and most importantly effective. Furthermore, only basic equipment is required. By using these methods, most fungi, with the exception of those that do not germinate on artificial medium, can be isolated. Some approaches are suggested to prevent mite…
An Optimized Protocol of Single Spore Isolation for Fungi
TLDR
An optimized protocol of single spore isolation is introduced, which is favorable in terms of its lower contamination rate, is less time consuming, and requires only simplified procedures with common and easily accessible apparatus.
Determination of Pathogens in Greywater
There are many methods used for isolation and the enumeration of pathogenic organisms. The direct methods depend on the culture medium and microscopic examination. However, these techniques are not
Methodology Part I. Pochonia spp. In Vitro Culturing: Media, Strain Maintenance and Deposition
TLDR
Research carried out on Pochonia chlamydosporia culturing under in vitro conditions is reviewed, which have made possible the production of mycelium, conidia and chamydospores in sufficient quantities to allow laboratory, glasshouse and field experiments to be carried out with different isolates and strains of the fungus.
Morphological approaches in studying fungi: collection, examination, isolation, sporulation and preservation
TLDR
It is not possible to detail all techniques for all fungi and thus, this paper emphasizes on microfungi, and general practices of phenotypic approaches are herein outlined.
A rapid approach for isolating a single fungal spore from rice blast diseased leaves
TLDR
A rapid approach for isolating a single spore of the fungal pathogen, Pyricularia oryzae, from rice blast diseased leaves in the paddy field with low potential of contamination is developed.
Modified isolation technique for obtaining pure cultures of seedborne fungi
A simple modified hand-made needle technique for obtaining pure cultures directly from a mixed population of fungi was developed which resulted in purification of several seed-borne fungal species
Compared efficiency of the isolation methods for Botrytis cinerea
TLDR
The two methods were compared for the purification of mixes of mixes with known genotypic profiles and both had equally high efficiencies, up to 93–95%.
Isolation and Identification of Fungi Located in Horse Manure
The present study was included the isolation and identification of fungi located in horse manure were collected from horses located in the Equestrian Club in Jadriya – Baghdad during fourmonths (July
Induction of antibiotic production of freshwater fungi using mix-culture fermentation
TLDR
Antibiotic activities of culture filtrates from twenty filamentous fungi, isolated from wood submerged in tropical freshwater habitats, were tested against a pathogenic strain of Candida albicans, and anti-fungal activities against strains of C.Albicans were not exhibited by any culture Filtrates obtained from pure culture fermentation.
Fungal Pathogens Affecting the Production and Quality of Medical Cannabis in Israel
TLDR
The purpose of this study was to identify foliar, stem, and soilborne pathogens affecting MC under commercial cultivation in Israel and determine the seasonal outbreak of each fungus.

A method to promote sporulation in palm endophytic fungi
TLDR
A method to promote sporulation in palm endophytic fungi is introduced and someendophytic mycelia sterilia can be identified using this method and a comparison of this method with more conventional methods is presented.
A SIMPLE METHOD OF OBTAINING SINGLESPORE CULTURES
TLDR
In order to observe the animals without removing them from the tubes and thereby introducing air and bacteria which would lessen the length of the period of cultivation, a binocular microscope was set up horizontally and the tubes held singly at the correct focal distance.
Taxol from Pestalotiopsis microspora, an endophytic fungus of Taxus wallachiana.
TLDR
Pestalotiopsis microspora was isolated from the inner bark of a small limb of Himalayan yew, and was shown to produce taxol in mycelial culture, and spectroscopic and chromatographic comparisons with authentic taxol were identified.
Nuclear divisions in the ascus and ascospores of Melanospora zamiae
In Melanospora zamiae a total of five nuclear divisions took place during ascosporogenesis. The first and second divisions were meiotic in which the single diploid nucleus divided into four haploid
