We report on the first direct observation of coherent control of single-particle tunneling in a strongly driven double-well potential. In our setup atoms propagate in a periodic arrangement of double wells allowing the full control of the driving parameters such as frequency, amplitude, and even the space-time symmetry. Our experimental findings are in quantitative agreement with the predictions of the corresponding Floquet theory and are also compared to the predictions of a simple two mode…

Tunneling of polarized fermions in 3D double wells

We study the tunneling of a spin polarized Fermi gas in a three-dimensional double-well potential, focusing on the time dynamics starting from an initial state in which there is an imbalance in the

Enhancement of Localization in a Driven Four-Well System with Second-Order Coupling

We study theoretically the effect of second-order coupling (SOC) on the tunneling dynamics in a planar four-well system with only one well periodically modulated. We find that SOC between

Coherent control of spin-orbit-coupled atom in a double-well potential

Abstract We study coherent control of a spin-orbit-coupled single atom in a double-well potential. The manipulation is achieved by applying an additional periodic driven magnetic field gradient to

On the possible control of tunneling in symmetric triple-well systems: the role of symmetry and driving

The possibility of controlling tunneling of a quantum particle localized in the central well (M) of a symmetric triple well potential by carefully choosing the driving parameters of a mono or

Coherent control of quantum tunneling in different driving-frequency regions

We investigate the coherent control of quantum tunneling for a single particle held in a driven double-well potential. For a moderate-frequency region, we demonstrate that the irregular quantum

Transparent control of three-body selective destruction of tunneling via unusual states

We study transparent control of quantum tunneling via unusual analytical solutions for three bosons held in a driven double-well. Under high-frequency approximation, we analytically obtain the fine

Quantum manipulation of tunnelling for two bosons held in a driven triple-well

Coherent control of quantum tunnelling is investigated analytically for two bosons held in a driven triple-well potential. In the high-frequency region within resonance, the non-Floquet states with
