A new family of single-phase four switches Z-source AC-AC converter are proposed, including voltage-fed and current-fed. Compared to the traditional ac-ac converters, they have unique features: providing a larger range of output ac voltage with buck-boost, reversing or maintaining phase angle, reducing in-rush and harmonic current.
