We present the first simultaneous measurement of the ratio of branching fractions, R=B(t --> Wb)/B(t --> Wq), with q being a d, s, or b quark, and the top-quark pair production cross section sigma(tt[over]) in the lepton plus jets channel using 0.9 fb(-1) of pp[over] collision data at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV collected with the D0 detector. We extract R and sigma(tt[over]) by analyzing samples of events with 0, 1, and > or =2 identified b jets. We measure R=0.97(+0.09)/(-0.08)(stat+syst) and sigma(tt… Expand

Prospects of measuring the CKM matrix element |Vts| at the LHC
Abstract We study the prospects of measuring the CKM matrix element | V t s | at the LHC with the top quarks produced in the processes p p → t t ¯ X and p p → t / t ¯ X , and the subsequent decays tExpand
A search for the Standard Model Higgs boson produced in association with a pair of top quarks and decaying to a pair of bottom quarks
A search for the Standard Model Higgs boson produced in association with a pair of top-quarks and decaying to a pair of b-quarks (tt̄H(H→bb̄)) is presented. The analysis uses 20.3 fb−1 of data takenExpand
First observation of the Top Quark at the Large Hadron Collider
This thesis presents the measurement of the top quark pair production cross section in the CMS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). At LHC, the top quark is produced predominantlyExpand
Precision measurements of the top quark mass from the Tevatron in the pre-LHC era.
Experimental measurements of the top quark mass accomplished at the Tevatron, a proton-antiproton collider located at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, are described and data analysis techniques used to extract information about the top mass are reviewed. Expand
Model-independent extraction of |Vtq| matrix elements from top-quark measurements at hadron colliders
Current methods to extract the quark-mixing matrix element |Vtb| from single-top-production measurements assume that |Vtb|≫|Vtd|,|Vts|: top quarks decay into b quarks with 100 % branching fraction,Expand
Probing the flavor of the top quark decay
The top quark sector is almost decoupled from lighter quark generations due to the fact that $V_{tb}\approx$~1. The current experimental measurements of $V_{tb}$ are compatible with the StandardExpand
Review of Top Quark Properties Measurements at the Tevatron
This review summarises the top quark physics program pursued at Fermilab’s Tevatron proton-antiproton collider, operating at a centre of mass energy of 1.96 TeV, and its two collider detectors CDFExpand
Measurements of the production, decay and properties of the top quark: a review
With the full Tevatron Run II and early LHC data samples, the opportunity for furthering our understanding of the properties of the top quark has never been more promising. Although the currentExpand
Status and prospects of top-quark physics
Abstract The top quark is the heaviest elementary particle observed to date. Its large mass of about 173 GeV/ c 2 makes the top quark act differently than other elementary fermions, as it decaysExpand

The D0 Collaboration
A search for the Higgs boson is presented in H → WW ∗ → μτhad decays in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √ s = 1.96 TeV. Final states containing hadronically decaying tau τ as well as μ +Expand
For the CDF Collaboration
This paper presents a measurement of J/ψ,ψ ′ differential cross sections in p¯ p collisions at √ s = 1.8 TeV. The cross sections are measured above 4 GeV/c in the central region (|η| < 0.6) using theExpand
