A simple, rapid, precise RP-HPLC method was developed for simultaneous estimation of plumbagin and embelin containing different extract. The maximum resolution was achieved by using mobile phase acetonitrile: 50 mM potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer: acetonitrile in the ratio (45:55) at pH 3.5.This mixture was found to be appropriate allowing good separation of both the components at a flow rate of 1 ml/min and detection wavelength 290 nm.
