High Frequency sinusoidal Pure-plunge and Pure-pitch oscillations of SD7003 airfoil at Re = 10,000 were simulated and compared against the experiments. The study was conducted using dierent starting positions and initial conditions. The computational results for pure-plunge were in fair agreement with the experiments. However for pure pitch motion we observed a "bifurcation" behavior of vortex shedding with one mode agrees well with the experimental data whereas the other does not. The study… CONTINUE READING
