An improved Recursive Neural Network (RNN) maneuvering simulation tool for surface ships is described. Inputs to the simulation, cast in the form of forces and moments, are redefined and extended in a manner that more accurately captures the physics of ship motion; the new model is used to extend initial efforts toward RNN surface ship simulations.
