Given two multiplicity-free operators $T_1$ and $T_2$ of class $C_0$ having the same finite Blaschke product as minimal function, the operator algebras $H^\infty(T_1)$ and $H^\infty(T_2)$ are isomorphic and $T_1$ is similar to $T_2$. We find conditions under which the norm of the similarity between the operators can be controlled by the norm of the algebra isomorphism. As an application, we improve upon earlier work and obtain results regarding similarity when the minimal function is an…

Let T be a polynomially bounded operator and let ℳ be its invariant subspace. Assume that PM⊥T |M⊥Pℳ⊥Tℳ⊥$$ {\left.{P}_{{\mathrm{\mathcal{M}}}^{\perp }}T\right|}_{{\mathrm{\mathcal{M}}}^{\perp }} $$

Row Contractions Annihilated by Interpolating Vanishing Ideals

We study similarity classes of commuting row contractions annihilated by what we call higher-order vanishing ideals of interpolating sequences. Our main result exhibits a Jordan-type direct sum

Similarity Results for Operators of Class C0

If T is a multiplicity-free contraction of class C0 with minimal function mT, then it is quasisimilar to the Jordan block S(mT). In case mT is a Blaschke product with simple roots forming a Carleson

operator algebras are the focus of the second half of the book. Such an algebra may be naturally defined as an abstract operator space carrying a completely contractive multiplication. However, it

Truncated Toeplitz Operators: Spatial Isomorphism, Unitary Equivalence, and Similarity

A truncated Toeplitz operator A ϕ : K Θ → K Θ is the compression of a Toeplitz operator T ϕ : H 2 → H 2 to a model space K Θ := H 2 e ΘH 2 . For Θ inner, let T Θ denote the set of all bounded

Unitary equivalence to a truncated Toeplitz operator: analytic symbols

Unlike Toeplitz operators on H2, truncated Toeplitz operators do not have a natural matricial characterization. Consequently, these operators are difficult to study numerically. In this paper we
