A method has been developed to improve the performance of alternating-current electrolyte atmospheric liquid discharge (ac-EALD) optical emission spectrometry for the determination of elements. Significant enhancement of emission intensity was achieved by adding organic substance into the nitric acid electrolyte solutions.
