Significance of chondrification in the development of otosclerotic stapedial footplate.

Abstract

Thirty-four otosclerotic stapes of active type were investigated histologically with hematoxylin-eosin (H-E), periodic acid-Schiff-alcine blue (PAS-AB), and/or toluidine blue stain.
