VSe2 is a transition metal dichaclogenide which has a charge- density wave transition that has been well studied. We report on a low-temperature upturn in the resistivity and, at temperatures below this resistivity minimum, an unusual magnetoresistance which is negative at low fields and positive at higher fields, in single crystals of VSe2. The negative magnetoresistance has a parabolic dependence on the magnetic field and shows little angular dependence. The magnetoresistance at temperatures… Expand
Observation of the Kondo Effect in Multilayer Single-Crystalline VTe2 Nanoplates.
The transport studies reveal that no sign of intrinsic long-range ferromagnetism but localized magnetic moments exist in the individual multilayer metallic VTe2 nanoplates, which give rise to the Kondo effect. Expand
Thickness-dependent magnetotransport properties in 1T VSe2 single crystals prepared by chemical vapor deposition.
Low temperature synthesis of 1T phase VSe2single crystals with thickness ranging from 3 to 41 nm by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) shows a decreasing phase transition temperature of the CDW when the thickness is decreased, and Kohler's rule analysis of the MR reveals the non-applicability of Kohlers rule for temperature above 50 K. Kondo effect and superconductivity in niobium with iron impurities
It is found that by co-annealing Nb films with Fe in Argon gas at above 400 $$^{\circ }$$ ∘ C for an hour, one can induce a Kondo effect in Nb, and the temperature dependence of the resistance suggests existence of remnant superconductivity at low temperatures even though the system never becomes superconducting.
